Ochsner Academics hosted the 22nd Annual Ochsner Research Week from May 19-22, 2025, celebrating research excellence at Ochsner with lectures from Ochsner team members and special guests, podium presentations, and an evening poster session on the campus of Ochsner Medical Center- New Orleans.
This important annual event has grown through the years and continues to serve as a showcase for the exciting and innovative research conducted across our system by Ochsner physicians, scientists, clinicians, nurses, pharmacists, students, residents and fellows.
Research Week, with a focus on health disparities, featured special lectures from Ochsner team members and guest speakers on May 21 and 22, as well as podium presentations on May 19 and 20.
In the evening on May 22, there were 100 poster presentations available for viewing in the Riverview Room of the Benson Cancer Center. Poster presentations can still be reviewed through June 30.
Best presentation winners were named in seven judged categories: Nursing, Pharmacy, UQ-OCS Medical Student, 2025 Postdoctoral Research Fellows, Clinical/Translational, Resident/Fellow and Health Disparities.
Also, the 2025 Research Mentor of the Year recipients were named:
- Paul Thevenot, PhD - Medical Student Research Mentor of the Year
- Frank Williams, III, MD - Resident/Fellow Research Mentor of the Year
- Lawrence Blonde, MD - Clinical Professional Research Mentor of the Year
