This postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Queensland-Ochsner Clinical School provides a unique opportunity for recent, selected, doctoral degree recipients to continue to remain engaged in translational, clinical, and health services research while they await the start of their residency program.

At Ochsner, post-doctoral research fellows work in a highly collaborative research environment with leading clinicians and clinician-scientists. They are engaged in research in areas such as oncology, neurosciences, transplantation/immunology, cardiovascular sciences, reproductive sciences, infectious diseases, health services, etc.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria

To be eligible for postdoctoral training, the student must be a graduate of the UQ-Ochsner Clinical School.

Applicants will be evaluated based on, among other criteria,
1. the scientific merit of the proposed project
2. the applicant’s research activities and productivity while enrolled at UQ-OCS, in particular during their tenure at the Ochsner Clinical School
3. whether or not the applicant is enrolled in a Higher Research Degree (e.g., MPhil), is working on a project supported by the UQ-Ochsner Seed Fund for Collaborative Research, and/or is involved in any other collaborative research between investigators at UQ and Ochsner
4. passed USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK and Step 2 CS

Award

Up to 5 total fellowships will be awarded to eligible applicants. The duration of this post- doctoral research fellowship is for 22 weeks. Total stipend is $800 per week payable bi-weekly. Taxes, insurance premiums and charges for other benefits will be withdrawn from this stipend as per fellow selection and institutional practice.
