The Department of Clinical Research Support is a team of research professionals who work with doctors and scientists to conduct clinical research studies. They are knowledgeable in all aspects of clinical research and are trained to protect the rights of people who participate in research.
Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs) and Clinical Research Nurses (CRNs) work with the doctors in different departments to help them with their research studies. These professionals often meet with the people who participate in research studies. They gather information and make sure that all study procedures are done on schedule.
Clinical Trials Coordinators work behind the scenes to make sure that all of the approvals are in place before a study opens for people to participate. Data coordinators work to handle the large amount of information collected for some studies.
If you are asked to participate in a research study at Ochsner, you may get to meet one of our research professionals. They are happy to answer any questions you may have about research.
